i dont know when iam finished, iam just looking at the code and trying various
things, if its faster it goes to cvs, if not to /dev/null ...

it certainly wont be a waste of time to benchmark every revision of ffmpeg
starting at very first one :)
we maybe would find some changes which caused the performance to drop ...
