This has already been addressed by other people; Rich's answer is the
formally correct one. I'm not *absolutely* positive that this is
formally a run-on sentence, but it has the feel of one to my mind, and I
think it needs to be fixed in any case.

This is fine by me; I didn't go for something like this before because I
prefer to remain as non-intrusive as I can manage unless necessary.
