Yes, thanks for the hint.

The cause lies somewhere else, though.  The CVS version on mphq is
ancient (insert my default 'why I hate Slackware' flame here) and I
think I fell into the - admittedly obvious - trap of only testing
locally instead of over the network.

I'll look into it soon.
