Assuming the next release won't take several years, I think this is not needed.

btw: The removal of vhook & imgconvert certainly deserves an entry in
doc/APIchanges. And that file should probably also mention CLI changes
(maybe rename it to API_CLI_CHANGES) like the removal of the "-vhook"
option, since GUI frontends may depend on them.
