[00:11] <saste> who can provide a list of gnu/linux distros shipping ffmpeg?
[00:12] <ohsix> an exaustive list? probably nobody, but rpm/deb based distros shouldn't be too far away from a repo query
[00:13] <gnafu> http://distrowatch.com/search.php
[00:13] <gnafu> http://distrowatch.com/search.php?pkg=ffmpeg&pkgver=#pkgsearch
[00:13] <gnafu> May be useful.
[00:13] <beastd> michaelni: oh! i think you misunderstood what i meant. i want av_fifo_grow() ! i just thought the av_fifo_grow implementation could be simplified. but i might have missed something that makes it impossible to do so.
[00:14] <gnafu> Wait, that seems to require you enter a full version number. Anyway, it may still be useful.
[00:15] <ohsix> hahah version numbers!
[00:15] <saste> gnafu: thanks
[00:15] <saste> yet it is difficult to interpret the output, because some are possibly shipping "ffmpeg" aliases to libav
[00:17] <gnafu> I supposed. You'd probably have to take the list and then manually investigate each one to get a more accurate list.
[00:17] <ohsix> what do you need the information for?
[00:18] <ubitux> all i can tell is that archlinux is packaging latest stable of ffmpeg in the official repositories
[00:18] <ubitux> i don't lurk into the other distro
[00:18] <ohsix> distros that aren't paying attention generally dont benefit from the extra work required to inform them of things
[00:18] <beastd> michaelni: i did not intent to critic the introduction of av_fifo_grow. you are calling av_fifo_realloc2 from av_fifo_grow so i thought we could get by without "if (old_size < size) ... return 0".
[00:18] <michaelni> well then realloc will always be called
[00:19] <michaelni> and always with a grwoing size
[00:19] <michaelni> unless i miss some solutrion
[00:19] <beastd> michaelni: ok then i misread the code.
[00:24] <beastd> michaelni: i see now where i misread the code. it is all good i think

[15:46] <ubitux> FYI: http://lucy.pkh.me/ffstats/
[15:46] <ubitux> (if you have a better script, suggestions welcome)
[16:13] <michaelni> ubitux, nice
[18:08] <burek> -map_metadata -1 should remove metadata from the output's container, but it doesn't?
[18:21] <CIA-63> ffmpeg: 03Michael Niedermayer 07master * rf8196759b4 10ffmpeg/libavutil/ (avutil.h fifo.c fifo.h):

[18:58] <CIA-63> ffmpeg: Signed-off-by: Michael Niedermayer <michaelni at gmx.at>
[19:43] <saste> ubitux: amerge only works with packed formats, right?
[19:44] <saste> so in case we remove packed/negotiation we need to either a function for creating all packed samples, either enumerate all packed formats in the filter, right?
[20:23] <CIA-63> ffmpeg: 03Piotr Bandurski 07master * r6439ad495e 10ffmpeg/libavformat/riff.c: Add SLDV FourCC for dvvideo.
[21:13] <j-b> the SLDV samples work for you, guys?
[21:52] <Compn> where are they ?
[21:52] Action: Compn doesnt see any on samples repo
[21:53] <Compn> none on ffmpeg trac
[21:53] <Compn> none in bugzilla
[21:54] <cbsrobot> Compn: http://www.datafilehost.com/download-e8b5605d.html
[21:58] <Compn> doesnt seem to work by forcing it with mplayer -vc +ffdv
[21:58] <Compn> but i have old mplayer
[21:58] <Compn> cbsrobot : do you have sl25 or sl50 samples too? :P
[21:58] <cbsrobot> nah - it was a link pasted by poitr on the ml
[21:59] <cbsrobot> *piotr
[21:59] <Compn> ah
[22:01] <j-b> yep
[22:14] <j-b> Compn: because to me, adding the fourcc is not enough
[22:14] <j-b> [dvvideo @ 0x7f60acc94ba0] could not find dv frame profile
[22:36] <burek> is it possible to reverse timestamps of video stream with ffmpeg
[22:36] <burek> to play it backwards?
[22:50] <Compn> no, you have to decode the frames in order
[22:50] <Compn> if your file is all keyframes its easier
[22:51] <Compn> but you have a file, and your frames will be ibpibpbpbpbpbpbibpbpbpbpbipbpbpbpbi , so all of the p and b frames are incomplete frames that rely on earlier data, sometimes from the iframe
[22:51] <Compn> i mean, it is possible , virtualdub can play files in reverse , by decoding it and buffers and such
