[11:05] <JEEBsv> oh these old ogm files are fabulous. I think I just found a file that decodes just fine if you go through it a->b, but if you seek (f.ex. put -ss before -i), it does like ~8 frames and then finishes :D
[11:16] <damir__> last time i had a problem when mpeg2video encoder was inserting i-frames more often than it should
[11:16] <damir__> i thought it's scene-detection
[11:16] <damir__> but aparently it's not
[11:24] <damir__> is there any other mechanism that would insert keyframes?
[11:28] <av500> line noise?
[11:29] <damir__> av500: so if the frame texture is too complex, encoder generates i-frame?
[11:30] <av500> well, maybe
[11:30] <av500> I dont know the exact mechanism
[11:30] <av500> I'd look into the source code
[11:31] <damir__> already in it yes
[11:31] <damir__> i hacked out scene detection mechanism, that's why i know there's something else :)
[11:32] <merbanan> gop rules ?
[11:34] <damir__> ironically, i'm doing this to fix the broken gops it produces
[11:34] <damir__> i set gop size to 12, max-key to 12 and select closed gop
[11:34] <damir__> but it produces gops that don't start with i-frame
[11:34] <damir__> and gops that have more than 1 i-frame
[12:35] <kierank> how can you have a gop that doesn't start with an i-frame
[12:45] <durandal_1707> Compn: saste removed your real name in report on ml, but its still in "private" paste and available via irc log
[12:46] <durandal_1707> and who is Elvis?
[12:51] <damir__> don't know, mpeg2video encoder produces that
[12:54] <JEEBsv> anyways, anyone interested in looking at this ogm seeking derp? can link to a sample :)
[13:22] <damir__> why is picture_in_gop_number allowed to be larger than gop_size..
[14:01] <ubitux> BBB: it seems i'll have all august free, so i guess i'm interested in your vp9 proposal
[17:06] <cone-390> ffmpeg.git 03Clément BSsch 07master:de12b454f216: lavf/http: remove Mozilla/5.0 from user agent.
[20:15] <cone-390> ffmpeg.git 03Michael Niedermayer 07master:582f53349eab: jpeg2000dec: make cblk->length(inc)/data use consistent
[22:17] <cone-390> ffmpeg.git 03Michael Niedermayer 07master:0329345da24e: mmsh/mmsh_close: use av_freep()
[22:17] <cone-390> ffmpeg.git 03Michael Niedermayer 07master:c7755c348bbe: mmsh/mmsh_close: use ffurl_closep()
[22:17] <cone-390> ffmpeg.git 03Michael Niedermayer 07master:b4579a29c75e: mmsh: dont close context on seeking failure
[22:21] <michaelni> ubitux, do you want to do another review of/apply "0612 21:46 Matthew Heaney (5.9K)
[22:21] <ubitux> yes sorry i forgot
[22:22] <ubitux> i'm going to review
[22:22] <michaelni> ok thx
[22:33] <cone-390> ffmpeg.git 03Matthew Heaney 07master:b24f15c45ed5: lavf: add WebVTT muxer.
[22:37] <ubitux> someone was complaining about the tags not being present in webm
[22:37] <ubitux> (they're muxed only in matroska)
[22:37] <ubitux> any reason for that?
[22:46] <Plorkyeran> webm tags aren't identical to matroska tags
[22:46] <Plorkyeran> so they were probably just never implemented
[22:47] <ubitux> ok
[22:47] <ubitux> from what i saw, it also seems that chaptering is done through webvtt?
