[08:06] <Mavrik> the bottleneck is probably (but not 100%) the input bandwidth (if you have a very fast processor)
[08:06] <Mavrik> so try using lower display resolution or finding how to limit capture just to one window
[08:06] <Mavrik> or you can drop fps

[11:13] <luc4> Hi! I'm trying to mux a h264 raw stream with vfr into an mp4. I pass each frame with a timestamp to libavformat. The resulting mp4 anyway does not keep the same speed and vlc cannot determine the total length. Maybe I failed to set the timestamps correctly?

I used Qt to read. Then I modified the write_video_frame function to write that. The rest is kept as it was.
[11:25] <luc4> Mavrik: I'm not entirely sure on the AVPacket creation in line 390. I tried to provide timestamps both absolute and relative to the beginning of the video, but nothing changed.

[11:35] <Mavrik> PTS MAY be omitet (and MUST be set to AV_NOPTS_VALUE NOT 0!)
[11:35] <Mavrik> but it shouldn't be
[11:35] <Mavrik> since you're not setting those properly, that is your problem
[11:36] <Mavrik> also, throw away all the code dealing with encoding, setting up encoders and everything, you don't need that and will only mess with your understanding of concepts

A tells B that he can send RTP to UDP port 5000 and RTCP sender reports to UDP port 5001. However, I am confused which port A should use to send RTCP receiver reports back to B. It doesn't make sense to me that B should be "listening" on 5001 as well, but I cant find anywhere in the SIP spec that specifies anything else,
