[00:19:47 CET] <cone-041> ffmpeg 03Felicia Lim 07master:4cd6f08d2005: avcodec/libopusenc: Fix warning when encoding ambisonics with channel mapping 2
[00:51:10 CET] <atomnuker> michaelni: I didn't ack the opus ambisonics patch
[00:51:17 CET] <atomnuker> I'd like for it to be reverted please
[00:51:40 CET] <atomnuker> its a hack to improperly support ambisonics encoding for their use case only
[00:52:11 CET] <atomnuker> I did express disapproval and none of the issues regarding it were fixed at all
[00:52:36 CET] <atomnuker> in fact the person just hoped we'd forgotten about it
[01:04:11 CET] <atomnuker> I don't want a repeat of august, if you thought that no one cares about this patch then you won't care if I revert it myself
[01:04:23 CET] <cone-041> ffmpeg 03Rostislav Pehlivanov 07master:cf283f2dfbbf: Revert "avcodec/libopusenc: Fix warning when encoding ambisonics with channel mapping 2"
[01:04:24 CET] <cone-041> ffmpeg 03Rostislav Pehlivanov 07master:ffec9d32feaf: Revert "libopus: Add channel mapping 2 support in libopusdec"
[01:25:47 CET] <michaelni> atomnuker, iam not sure i somehow missed mails in that thread but to me it looked like Felicia was asking about and pinging this patch in august with no reply from anyone and november again. So it very much looks like noone cared since 4 months. Iam very happy if you take this over and np about the revert
[01:26:35 CET] <iive> atomnuker, what were the issues you had with the patches ?
[01:29:26 CET] <atomnuker> I did explain this in my reply but this is essentially relying on a non-specified mapping between ambisonics and a channel layout
[01:29:39 CET] <atomnuker> and asking the encoder to interpret those specifically as ambisonics
[01:32:35 CET] <michaelni> atomnuker, i think Felicia did not understand that there where issues remaining in the patch otherwise there would have been no ping i guess
[01:32:36 CET] <atomnuker> we need to specify a way to signal ambisonics and we need to specify how the channels in such streams would map to avframe->data
[01:33:41 CET] <atomnuker> yeah, I'll take over reviewing it, I'll cook up a patch to do what I proposed now
[03:10:20 CET] <cone-041> ffmpeg 03James Almer 07master:53ca505acc53: avcodec/libdav1d: remove init cleanup internal codec cap
[03:10:21 CET] <cone-041> ffmpeg 03James Almer 07master:3cd275bcde5c: avcodec/libdav1d: use constants defined in the public API to limit thread count
[03:10:22 CET] <cone-041> ffmpeg 03James Almer 07master:0fca2f60dac7: avcodec/libdav1d: read profile from the sequence header referenced by the ouput picture
[03:10:23 CET] <cone-041> ffmpeg 03James Almer 07master:e695b0beba4a: avcodec/libdav1d: add an option to toggle Film Grain
[15:17:02 CET] <atomnuker> why is there an opusenc patch on the ML?
[15:17:27 CET] <atomnuker> is someone seriously using it?
[15:18:07 CET] <atomnuker> durandal_1707: there's an ambisonics channel layout RFC on the ml
[15:18:18 CET] <atomnuker> you know a lot more about ambisonics, could you take a look at it?
[15:36:57 CET] <CoreX> i think somebody came in last week and spoke about opusenc patch can't remember when exactly
[18:48:16 CET] <durandal_1707> atomnuker: i know nuting, ask koda
[21:17:40 CET] <durandal_1707> michaelni: stop spamming me via linkedin, thanks
[21:46:55 CET] <BradleyS> durandal_1707: i think you mean linkedin, stop spamming me under false pretenses
[21:48:32 CET] <BBB> true, linkedin will claim someone did something to you whereas in reality it's just advertising spam
[21:49:01 CET] <durandal_1707> spam with your name in it?
[21:49:08 CET] <BradleyS> yep
[21:49:26 CET] <BradleyS> "your invitation from _____ is waiting" is a lie
[21:49:27 CET] <atomnuker> isn't linkedin the most boring social network in existance?
[21:49:45 CET] <BBB> I think that's why people use it
[21:49:47 CET] <BBB> boring = trusted
[21:50:01 CET] <BradleyS> people use it because everyone uses it
[21:50:14 CET] <BBB> haven't you noticed that ICQ and MSN lookalikes are amongst the most valuable unicorns of this year?
[21:50:36 CET] <BBB> not to mention IRC ripoffs with ICQ smileys
[21:50:44 CET] <BBB> literally billions of dollars
[21:50:54 CET] <BBB> for an IRC ripoff with smileys
[21:51:08 CET] <BBB> so, yes, boring = good
[21:51:10 CET] <atomnuker> I have no idea what the irc ripoffs are trendy now
[21:51:41 CET] <michaelni> durandal_1707, thanks for notifying me, i was partly aware of this, but not that this still happens, just now went over my account and killed all invites i hope this stops all spam it sends in my name, but i dont really know
[21:52:51 CET] <durandal_1707> good work!
[21:52:54 CET] <kurosu> linkedin being such a facebook harvester of data is the primary reason for me not joining it
[21:52:56 CET] <j-b> atomnuker: Slack.
[21:53:03 CET] <kurosu> *facebook-like
