[Ffmpeg-devel] MPEG Codec Question

  A quick question.  I am optimising my program so that it only uses
certain formats from FFMPEG.  I have noticed that in order to play MPEG 1
and 2 files I need to include the mpeg1video, mpeg2video and mpegvideo
codecs.  Ok, the purpose of mpeg1video and mpeg2video is obvious, but what
is the mpegvideo codec?
