[Ffmpeg-devel] libavformat read/write to same file at same time

Greetings !

I would like to be able to capture video and write it to a file using 
libavformat/libavcocdec.

At the same time in another process I would like to be able to seek and 
playback from anywhere in the same file, also using libavformat/libavcodec.

I tested this and it sometimes works.  But sometimes it crashes.

It is possible to make this work reliably?  I don't care what kind of 
coding or format is used.
