Actually I think it's a grand idea. I would definitely subscribe to that
list. Any windows whiners (like me) that come ask here could be told to
go ask there, and only there, instead of being ignored or flamed. I'll
host a page with windows-only patches and guides to building ffmpeg
under windows. I imagine (hope) that from time to time some real ffmpeg
developer will be nice enough to check there and see if there's
something that could potentially be applied into the real ffmpeg.

I think we get the point that ffmpeg developers don't like Windows. More
specifically Windows users. We normally ask newbie questions, and say
"It doesn't work." without saying what doesn't work. Simply suggesting
to "switch to a real operating system" is not a real engineering
solution. It avoids the problem instead of solving it.

Basically, making this new list would reduce the amount of ignorant
posts by us Windows users. We'll discuss changes in our own level, try
to be nice to each other,  as already happens in other devel
mailinglists like winpcap's, and make patches as we see fit for Windows,
trying our best to make the changes still work on Linux, so that they
might get applied someday. I, personally, will never come here again
with Windows-only-related problems.
