[Ffmpeg-devel] av_input_open_file

Hi,
I have obtained ffmpeg via the 1.0pre8 release of MPlayer and am trying to use 
av_input_open_file to open a .mov file. I have called av_register_all, but the 
av_input_open_file call always returns with ENOENT. Furthur investigation shows that 
the av_probe_input_format returns null (I am calling the av_input_open_file with 
Null, 0 and Null as the last three arguments).
Can anyone shed any light as to what might be going on as I am very new to ffmpeg (only been using it for a couple of days and I can't seem to find this issue in any of the email archives)
