Right. But I think unless industry starts pushing something like 24/48fps
in the broadcast domain -- manufacturers are unlikely to be proactive
with implementing these. IMHO, we're long past a point where sync rate
of a TV set had to pay attention to the AC frequency.
Basically, if the transition from analog to digital is inevitable (like
in US) why not just bite the bullet and go all the way to 24/48fps
support built into equipment -- after all, your old TV set is unlikely
to survive the transition anyway.
