hello all,

and Chris Dolan in particular: is the Flix Exporter component really 
scriptable? If so, how? Could it be used for a serverside encoding 
process for FLV8 like the way I'm using ffmeg for FLV7
$99 for a serverside commandline solution is a fair price I'd say even 
when I have to write all the logic around it myself.
However AFAIK there is the FLix Engine which is really expensive and 
also, worst thing, has a per-subscription based licence model. This is a 
big problem for anybody that wants to do something with online web video 
and is not making any money out of it.

The question remains: it seems it would be legal to do a cleanroom 
implementation of the VP6 encoder. So what does the FFMpeg community 
think of it?
