[Ffmpeg-devel] vp6 and thumbnail generation

i want to use ffmpeg or mencoder on linux (fedora core 5) to take a vp6 
encoded SWF video , and then generate either a JPG as a thumbnail. i 
also want to create a "video thumbnail" where i cut the SWF video down 
to say 5 seconds and resize it. 

i'm aware that vp6 encoding is not supported by ffmpeg and/or mencoder 
.  but i'm wondering if the vp6 decoder can decode a SWF, i'd be happy 
to write a new SWF in a different codec like h263 .  is this possible?  
any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
