Thanks for all the information. This explains why I saw some libavfilter
code, but I was not finding any reference it it in ffmpeg.c

I'll probably have a better look at this stuff in the next months,
since I'll have to implement some pre-processing and post-processing
filters for MDC-like stuff, and I suspect libavfilter is the simplest
way to do this.
