We could bump the version and remove the old API (if people want this)
The new vs. old scaler is keijis job and i dont want to work on this
before GSOC end. After all he is being payed to work on this ...

If a bugfix only changes things apparently unrelated to the bug with no
further explanation, that is a good sign that the bugfix is wrong.
