If you're referring to mime type recognition it seems to be that in
some environments (OS/web browser) the mime types of the files aren't
recognised properly and so are set as an octet stream or something.
I've managed to get it working on Mac OS X and in Linux. I don't do
any development work in Windows so I wouldn't know if it works there
but I would suspect it can also be configured to function
appropriately for patches and diffs.
Aside from that, GMail seems to work fine.
