Anything of the form "unless you foo, I will bar" is a threat.  That's
the definition.  As to "getting some work done," there are plenty of
other things you can do.  The make check is not at all important, and
affects only a small minority of users.

What if I, for whatever reason, can't tell you to wait?  Absent an
explicit approval, patches should always be treated as implicitly
rejected.
