true, it was not my intent to "jump on someone" at all, i just had to reply
to mans as he belived that there are some patches that could be merged and
i think there are not.

About the student, please consider that he had a flu during the summer that
kept him form working for a while and that he wrote the a^b stuff while
he wasnt completely healthy yet. So i think the direction this thread was
heading is not exactly matching the truth. Also there where some communication
problems between him, his mentor and me, as well as disagreements between
his mentor and me on what and how to do things.
