I fully agree on the need for small (and maybe more focused) examples
about how to use the API. For example, I often point people to
"output_example.c", but most of them manage to read the "wrong
part" (meaning, irrelevant for their needs) of the code ;-)

I planned since some time ago to start writing short and self-contained
examples, but I never found the time... I'll be busy until mid february,
but then I think I'll start this mini-project.
