There is gmane (as pointed out by Carl Eugen)

which you could've found by looking at the contact information on the website
http://ffmpeg.org
There is
http://archives.free.net.ph/list/ffmpeg-devel.en.html
There's the option to download the compressed archives from
http://lists.mplayerhq.hu/pipermail/ffmpeg-devel/
uncompressing them and using grep (or the search tool of your choice)
to search for your keyword.
And there is
http://google.com/search?q=keyword+ffmpeg-devel+site%3Alists.mplayerhq.hu
replace keyword with whatever it is you're looking for.
