I noticed in another thread about libavfilter and related, it was stated 
that "pixel format" was preferred to "colour space". Maybe that doesn't 
apply in this context but maybe "colour space/pixel format" would work.

I said 'add in' not 'swap'. :) I meant "for efficiently filtering, 
manipulating and generating multimedia streams."
