When faced with arguments like "maybe we should uint8_t because its more
likely to be atomic" and have that considered as a "technical argument" and
then see if followed by a bunch of personal attacks like this, I am very
very extremely happy to go away. Over on the jack-devel list, I've already
demonstrated that I know way too little about the intricacies of memory
write ordering on a variety of current architectures, and I'm happy to let
those who clearly know better than I figure out the right answers. Alas, the
arguments against Olivier's use of the JACK ringbuffer did not appear to be
coming from a position of more information, or even experience.
