what you where speaking of, was to have a buffer preserve its content and
where in memory it is while changing its size, this IS silly
creating a new buffer is a seperate matter

what was your original proposal?
the last ive seen was non functional aka "allocate each frame based on
the size of the previous frame" and memcpy if they differ

Rewriting code that is poorly written but fully understood is good.
Rewriting code that one doesnt understand is a sign that one is less smart
then the original author, trying to rewrite it will not make it better.
