global_quality: libvorbis expects a floating-point quality parameter. It is
currently carried by the global_quality flag, which is an integer. I had
submitted a patch to make it a float, you have rejected it (with quite
relevant reasons, I do not discuss that point).

Another example that comes to mind, for global_quality too: the range of
sane values for mpeg4 and libx264 is very different. This does not require a
different type, but a different help message would be nice.
