Then why have I been able to update the x264 configure check a half
dozen times in the past? This is no different from all previous
times.

I have kick set up on my client to perform a very short ban to
short-circuit autorejoins. I don't use permanent bans; if I did,
there was a mistake.
And yes, after you banned me, I left. Shocker.
Anyways, this is all a waste of my time. I'd be happy to reconsider
my patch as long as there's some reasonable discussion about it, but I
don't have commit rights anymore and as long as Mans is an op, I will
continue to have no commit rights.
Later today I will check to see if my commit rights have returned. If
they have not, then as I said earlier, I'm gone permanently, as Mans
has apparently requested that I be.
