I fail to see how linking me to that page is relevant or helpful. This list
is not solely for patches; it's for discussion of the development of ffmpeg.

My query is clearly not a bug report, and is *entirely* on topic, that being
discussion of a development aspect of ffmpeg.

If the maintainers of libavfilter agree that a change would be appropriate,
then I am happy to submit a patch.
