Hi,

This came out just today:

A quick look on the site reveals, that a VP8 specification and 
implementation has been made available:

The container format spec which is named WebM and is available here: 
http://www.webmproject.org/code/specs/

"At initial release, WebM supports a subset of the Matroska 
specification. Support for additional Matroska functionality will be 
under consideration as the project matures."
