Basically what happened for me is
1: examine stream, it says it has a dvdsub stream.
2: search documentation for anywhere where it mentions how to "hard
encode" these subtitles, by searching for dvdsub.  It didn't appear
anywhere. So this is an attempt to alleviate this.
