The paragraph is fine to me.
An alternative to "latest FFmpeg checkout" checkout could be
"newest FFmpeg revision" but I do not have a preference here.
On another thought it may be more elegant to provide the user with
version information on every doc page she browses. I don't know how
to realize that and I do not think the idea should be considered
blocking for this patch.
