I wonder if it is a good idea to advertise such changes. They made
sense when we didn't have "formal" releases, now "occasional" users
are mostly interested in changes included in new releases (that's the
point of releases after all), so features should be advertised mostly
in concurrence with new release events, or we will quickly end up with
a huge news section (too much news -> no news).

A more extensive description of the new features/changes should
probably be included in the release, so this could provide the base
for such a text.

This is just my opinion of course.
