I'd recommend specifically stating how users could help identify forgotten patches, whether that is filing a ticket in the issue tracker or a post to ffmpeg-devel, etc.

The first patch I thought of when reading this patch was the psnr comparison posted in this thread: http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.video.ffmpeg.devel/132616/ .  It's very helpful though it looks like the format of the output was never settled.
