This could be more of a possibility now that the fake "ffmpeg" package
has apparently already been removed in Debian/Ubuntu:
<http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-multimedia/libav.git;a=blobdiff;f=debian/control;h=ba2760abac7efa6e4e8d3d4619a07e01b0bd10c3;hp=3ab1b81d2ebce43cb520300a3029de185b8f137d;hb=a7398cdc19fb2ea2a7716fb15b4b02f9ecf7c3ce;hpb=8cf50e974ef00b5cd050b139c7d9c00c09130f1e>
I don't know if will still appear in 13.04 (Raring Ringtail):
http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.linux.ubuntu.motu/7295
I was unaware of these changes until recently and was in the middle of
writing a Debian bug report about the "ffmpeg" package: change upstream
to FFmpeg, rename the package, or drop it...
Unfortunately we will have to continue informing confused users
requesting help for their fake "ffmpeg" until at least 2017 when 12.04
LTS retires assuming that nothing can/will be done about the current
package situation for older Ubuntu releases.
Anyone interested in leaning more about becoming a Debian maintainer
