you could use swresample or help write a wraper for the avresample
API around swresample.
But of course if you wish to or are forced to fix avresample issues
i dont see a fundamental issue with enabling it for fate clients
That is as long as these added tests dont cause problems or work for
others)
If it does cause problems or work then it should be disabled again.
(a problem also would be if it fails on a client and doesnt get fixed
 as that makes spoting other failures more difficult)
