I doubt that implementing a teletext decoder as feature complete as 
libzvbi can be done easily.

Supporting the common teletext based subtitles may be easy, but getting 
the pages right, or implementing >level 1 teletext features seems like a 
lot of work to me.

Certainly libzvbi api has it's stupidities which required some extra work 
to fix, but still, using it was the fastest way to achieve a feature 
complete decoder.
