if you suggest that the user has to read and understand the
specification of a format and implemententation before he can set the
language in that container. Than frankly i think you can remove
support for setting languages completely.
The code must remap the language codes to what the destination
supports, otherwise it just cant be used, not even copying the
language code from one container to the other could work
