the idct through idct, idct_put and idct_add are assumed
to be the same idct using the same permutation IIRC, yes.

permutation is not binary because there are more than 2 choices, see
FF_IDCT_PERM_*

i think add/put are not used in the high bit depth case
if they are not used and not implemeted setting the pointers
to NULL is more robust than leaving them potentially set to a lower

Its not that you shouldnt use gotos but rather that you should write
readable code and code with gotos often but not always is less readable
