[FFmpeg-devel] Task for beginner : lossless JPEG transformations

Hi.

In case somebody is looking for a task to begin working on FFmpeg, I
have the following suggestion.

The program jpegtran, from libjpeg / libjpeg-turbo, can do lossless or
almost-lossless crop and rotate on JPEG, and even overlay with the most
recent versions.

I think this would be welcome in FFmpeg as bitstream filters: porting or
re-implementing (check the license!) jpegtran's code would be an useful
task.

Unfortunately, I know nothing about JPEG, so I cannot easily help /
mentor. I am just suggesting.
