No problem, so maybe we can discuss this without getting into the

Why? It would be great if you could give me some idea what you think 
would be an good way to get the watermarking done from ffmpeg, which 
clearly has advantages as ffmpeg is good at many things already.

Ideally in a way that for the end users - at least one day - would no 
longer require a custom, patched ffmpeg.
