If you want, I'll tip you a ko-fi for merging the commit :)

Note you _have to_ maintain the code afterwards, not just treat it as if
> split out means deleting it from ffmpeg.

There is not a single voice in the community (except maybe yours) saying
that they want to maintain this library.
Hence it's not needed within this community - if people want to send
patches and apply all the fixes the repo URL is above

Is this before or after you work on libsre, ffv1, snow, sonicaudio, and a
bunch of other tasks you're following? There is a limited number of hours
in the day you know! Holding the project hostage because you'd like to hack
on whatever you fancy or whatever you find funding for is not proper IN MY
OPINION.
