It seems Ubuntu 24.10 uses ffmpeg 7.0 according to 
https://packages.ubuntu.com/oracular/ffmpeg
It's not an LTS, so it will supported only until later this year. But 
until then, probably best to not drop 7.0.

Added to Downstreams while at it.
