Hmm with respect that's not quite the point!

I have 3000 GB+ of VDR recordings (8 yrs+), quite a few unlikely to ever
appear on TV again, and want to transcode them.
The current version of VDR records to .ts with subtitles etc, VLC plays
fine - I know.
But I have an archive to deal with....
