[FFmpeg-user] The story of 'boy cries wolf'

I've been watching the antics of this mailing list through my fingers for - what - ten, fifteen years now?
The ffmpeg user mailing list is the epitome of the open source software community - the absolute worst, the nadir, the perfect example of why people find it so off-putting.
The worst of it is from just a few people, but I've never once in my life found a place full of supposedly-professional individuals where such vitriolic personal unpleasantness, such nastiness, such deliberate, passive-aggressive unhelpfulness  is tolerated, even encouraged.
It's almost to the point of being a parody of itself.

You are absolutely right. Unfortunately, at this point, the only people
who answer are also drama kings.
