Same for me, but resizing works fine for me.
If I compile with --enable-debug=3 it only works, _if_ I disable 
sound.

I use a recent (daily) Debian-sid, linux-2.4.17, libc-2.2.4,
gcc 3.0.3, ld/as 2.11.92.0.12.3 20011121, Pentium III 600Mhz, 
Matrox G400 DH 32MB, XFree86 Version 4.1.0.1 with DRI, SBLive!
