[Mplayer-advusers] automatic expand

after searching some time around the mailing list archives and google
and not finding the answer to my question, i finally decided to ask
here.

is there a straightforward way to expand the movie (as with -vop
expand) to the aspect ratio of the video mode, without calculating
manually the height? like -vop expand=-1:height, but that requires
that i first check the width of the movie, then calculate the height
(width/1.33333) and use that value for the expand filter. it would be
good to have some way to specify in ~/.mplayer/config that i want the
movies always expanded, regardless of their resolution, to the right
aspect ratio of the video mode. am i missing something?
