[Mplayer-advusers] mplayer stream switching?

once in a while i run into a stream that does not work
but all it needs is a small change, take for example

http://138.25.162.211:8080

an wma8 stream, able to wget using the wmp user
agent, but otherwise useless in mplayer

changed to 

mms://138.25.162.211:8080

and it streams fine in mplayer. can we get http to
automatically try mms/mmst on the same url if fail?

of course this does not work on shoutcast streams
(but afair, they use port 8000)

any comments are welcome, this happens on a fair
percentage of streams.

also there is the rtsp/pnm switch, and the 7070/554
port switch too, but thats another story.
