Yes, MPlayer can downsample itself.

If it's in the manpage, yes, else no. All options are documented.
But i really doubt there is one as this is really driver specific
(driver as in the driver for your card).

Yes, that's why very few developers read it. And it's also the reason
why i want to keep this list clean.
Next time please tell us that you already tried -users.

Yes, but it will give us additional information on what you are trying
to do and how you did it.
