[Mplayer-advusers] Simultaneous TV grabbing and watching

Hi,
I wonder if this feature is supported some way or could be done through the system. xawdecode does it some way.
Is it possible to catch and watch the TV video stream "somewhere in the system" while mencoder is recording to HDD? I don't thing about replaying  the freshly stored data from disk. Maybe some kind of two way bi-redirection - into the file and on the screen ?
