OK, but this was only the top of our problem. Though licensing is more and
more OT in this list we must think about this. We must FIND a license for
the project at last ... Let's see the example of that famous OS/2 WarpVision
:) If choose license BSD, source can be 'stolen' by another projects. We can
beat :) WarpVision because GPL requires released source code ... I don't
think that you can find a good global license for MPlayer other than GPL.
WELL. At the moment it should be something like 'same as GPL except for the
missing right of distributing binaries' or whatever. I think we CAN remove /
rewrite :) / etc non-GPL parts to 'mplayer license'. AND if we have full
plugin or whatever interface with runtime CPU optimization selection for
everything and likes, THAN we can change to fully GPL. Or whatever. If you
allow to use our code in non-GPL projects, source can be stolen. SO I don't
see better point at the moment ... But I've already written this some weeks
(? :) ago so please forgive me because of OT.
